ZenJen of zen jewelz makes an appearance to support this fundraising event.

We all know that ZenJen loves to give back to the community, and so she strongly supports organizations that overlap with her mission to help people.  On Thursday, June 23rd, she teamed up with a 911 victims fund for the Daniel Thomas Afflitto Memorial Scholarship Fund, which benefits graduating seniors of Wayne Hills High School in pursuit of collegiate academia.  This annual dinner/scholarship presentation ceremony was held at The Brownstone, in Paterson, New Jersey.  There, ZenJen set up her table of jewelz, educated the guests about the healing properties of gemstones, and donated proceeds from the night’s sales to the scholarship fund.

Daniel Thomas Afflitto was a 1987 graduate of Wayne Hills High School, where he was Vice-President of the Student Council and a member of the Varsity Soccer Team.  Thereafter, he attended St. Joseph’s University, and graduated in 1991.  While he was there, Danny was a member of the Crimson Key Society, and helped to co-found the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.  In 1999, Danny became a partner at Cantor Fitzgerald, and worked on the 104th Floor of the North Tower as Director of Listed Equities.  Unfortunately, Daniel Afflitto, along with so many, lost his life in the unforgettable attacks that took place on September 11th, 2001.  This scholarship was created in his honor, to be awarded to deserving graduates of the high school to which he lovingly contributed.  This year, the Daniel Thomas Afflitto Memorial Scholarship was awarded to two very deserving Wayne Hills High School Graduates: Alex Vliet and Christine Lai.

Also present at the evening’s benefit were other well known guests, such as NFL stars Brandon Jacobs and David Diehl, who both play for the New York Giants!  Below pictured is ZenJen between these two tremendous athletes, and boy, do they make her look tiny!
